An ocean of petals ...

Yesterday was the remembrance day of our devastating earthquake which killed so many. One significant feature of our city is a winding river which flows through from one side through many suburbs, the inner city and out eventually to the sea. A very visual way that people identified with the loss and destruction yesterday was to throw flowers and petals into this Avon river . My son who rowed last night on the river says he rowed through 16 km of petals. An ocean of love .
