Cloud 9

Er no. I think you can safely assume I'm not on Cloud 9 at the moment.

"Trace and access" (I think it should be renamed "seek and destroy") mission accomplished; shower cubicle, sink and vanity cupboards dismantled in search of the source of the leak that had come through the ceiling downstairs.

The culprit? The cold water feed to the bath. A tiny trickle of water down an elbow joint over a period of many months had been enough to cause rising damp, mould and algae behind the entire shower enclosure, before the water finally had nowhere else to go except downwards, through the joist and finally through the ceiling.

And now begins the saga of insurance assessors, claims, negotiations, decisions, workmen and endless mugs of tea...
