goodbye
goodbye, panama.
the colors are brilliant here, and the air is hot and heavy.
the first plane, panama to houston, has more turbulence than i have ever experienced (and i have flown many, many times - i'd venture a guess that i'm over 20 or 25 flights by now). i honestly think i might vomit. i don't.
the next plane - wait, houston has no train between terminals. customs is a breeze (thank god i only carried on bags, no checking), but then i must walk interminably, as if forever.
when i arrive, i will sit for 10 minutes only to find i must walk again - gate change.
and then that gate - waiting. delays. delays. this, that, and the other. finally, we board 20 minutes behind schedule.
onboard, a man's tray table is broken. delays.
for some reason a technician is brought onboard to repair it on the spot. i text my brother. we will probably come in at least an hour late.
and then home - dfw - flat long looks across miles and miles. cooler air but rainy here too, and not that much cooler, either.
then back to the house, i have to go to bed. bikram tomorrow at 5:30a.
the routine has returned.
