CrocusMan

And finally ...

Crocus corsicus, the last of the season.

I have been blipping crocuses on and off for the last five months. This will almost certainly be the last flower until September although I think there will be a few more crocus related blips over the summer.

Crocus corsicus, as its name suggests, is found in the mountains on Corsica. Soft lilac, slightly bicoloured and usually attractively feathered on the outside of the outer petals. Easy to grow in the UK and a good garden plant, like most crocuses it is easily raised from seed.

As the last of the crocus fade, the first pulsatillas raise their heads to the sun and we move on to alpine plants ... but I won't be changing my name!
