Snowy with Odd Oaks

It was such a glorious afternoon that I took a detour home - via the Sculpture Park. It was also the first day that I cycled home without my coat on - it must have been warm for that!

There is some regeneration planned for the Sculpture Park and I can see why - but it is still a lovely place. Here is Snowy with the Odd Oaks. This sculpture was created by Nicolas Pope in 1982 and once stood upright in a local shopping centre. The middles decayed making them unsafe and they were relocated to the Sculpture Park and laid on their sides.

Just as I pulled up a sheep dog jumped up onto one of the oaks and sat there. I had hoped to get him/her in the picture too - but he was soon off to find another sculpture to jump on. Very agile and energetic dog.

I am not sure if I have told you about Snowy - who was once white hence the name. Pete persuaded me to have him resprayed (wise decision) and I opted for pink - but the name Snowy was unchanged. This bike has a great deal of sentimental value to me. Pete has built it up, pulled it apart and rebuilt it. All the parts are hand picked and I love it very much. Great ride home in the sunshine, thinking about the weekend and all the things that really matter - Pete, and the boys, oh and Tallulah and the hens!
