Bloody baboons

Not what you want to see outside your house on a quiet Sunday afternoon -- 20 baboons decided to drop in for a visit to check out the house.

They have been very active in the area recently and have ransacked a few homes. They rattle the windows or doors hoping to find one unlocked. They don't mind whether the house is occupied or not, and they were not afraid of the black labrador we have (the alpha male was larger than the lab so why should he care).

These didn't get into our house, but in the houses they have managed to enter they literally destroy all that they can -- emptying every cupboard, eating anything edible, and throwing glasses and ornaments around the house. They poo all over the place. And they're protected. Not sure what one does to protect the house, my son suggested buying lion droppings and placing them around the garden.
