Blackrock Baths, Evening, A Clearing

Windy and rainy early but began to clear up during the afternoon. When I went down to the shops in Blackrock around 8 p.m. to get some groceries the evening was effecting its Midas touch. I parked on a double yellow and left the hazards on to slip down to the sea and check out the light. I was rewarded with the most fabulous rainbow, gradually strengthening out on the horizon near Howth Head till it zinged right across the sky to Dún Laoghaire; the skyline near the West Pier was honey-gold, and the light just kept intensifying, ore-rich, slate-green waves scrolling out, lapping it up.

I crossed the bridge to get a better angle on it. When I looked over towards the derelict public Baths I saw a couple of guys trying to climb the old diving board. They gave up, but made a good blip anyway.
