Lapwings, Lambs and Larks

The Rob Roy Way - Stage one, Drymen to Aberfoyle. We had previously planned to tackle the first three stages of this walk together, with stop-overs in Aberfoyle and Callendar, but made a spur of the moment decision yesterday to have a day out today and tackle stage 1. We drove through to Aberfoyle early, parked the car and took a taxi to Drymen, the start point of the Way. The first few miles are on a very minor road heading due north, before branching north-west into the forest. From this junction the track follows the route of the aqueduct supplying drinking water from Loch Katrine to Glasgow, completed in 1859.

So although this might look like a northern extension of the Glasgow undergound, it aint!

Finished the day with an excellent curry at Voujon.
