Heart of Gold

I was already late for work, having lingered over breakfast with my latest photo mag., but saw this on the way out so had to go back for the camera and take some shots.

I blipped this as a tightly furled bud a couple of weeks ago, but missed its "perfect bloom" stage due to being away over Easter. So here we are, nearing the end of its perfection, but with a promise for the future as its exposes its heart of gold, ready to invite the insects in to start the cycle again
