Three for the Price of One or maybe six?
It was a wet start to the day but it brightened up in the afternoon.
The image on the bollard on the right is taken from a Kandinsky painting and is sponsored by the solicitors, Dutton Gregory.
The two in the background and their reflections make six.
If you have been viewing my blips for a while you will have seen my earlier bollard blips - if not follow this link and you will be able to see where my fascination for them all began.
If you continue past it on to the High Street, you'll see the Butter Cross or the High Cross.
It dates from as early as the 15th century but the version that we see, was restored by G G Scott in 1865.
It was once used by countrymen to sell produce, hence the name Butter Cross. In 1770 it was sold off by the Paving Commissioners to a Mr Dummer. When he tried to remove it, the citizens of Winchester organised a small riot and preserved the monument for the City.
Thank you to those people for rescuing it.
I might just blip it one day
