Embrace Crow, Return to Portland

Here are Pilipo, LocalFoodLover, and my favorite St. Francis statue in all the world. That is the tonsured head of St. Francis just to the right of Phil's hand, on your right. Everybody in this picture, including St. Francis, is embracing crows.

We had a wonderful first face-to-face meeting, talked till our throats were sore (five and a half hours passed in a flash), ate, walked in the sunshine, and discovered that we are all pretty much what we expected each other to be. From my perspective that means they are gracious, generous, sensitive, deeply honest, wonderfully articulate, and full of humor and interest.  They are two people who found each other late in life and built--and are still building--a healthy, joyful, mutually-enriching relationship. There is hope for the world.

*Title is a play on Embrace Tiger, Return to Mountain, a Tai Chi sequence and also a book about Tai Chi that I find poetic and beautiful.
