Homage to Blip..... Wet and Wild Garlic
It was only when I was kneeling down, facing north towards Edinburgh, in the torrential rain, taking this shot that I realised I didn't have my waterproof trousers on.
Such is my homage, dedication, addiction, call it what you will to blipcentral.
Let me take you back a stage. I had already been soaked twice during the morning, helping a friend with her horses whose stables were flooded, and had taken my waterproofs off before I got into the car to drive home. Many of the lanes were severely flooded and it was only at my third attempt that I found a passable route, the lane that took me along the wooded valley with a profusion of wild garlic and bluebells.
The gentle aroma of the garlic fills the air at this time of year and you can even smell it from inside the car as you drive along.
"Aha!" I thought, wild garlic will go beautifully with chicken for supper this evening.
"Double aha!" I thought as I sneakily pulled up a few plants to go in my herb garden.
"Treble aha" I thought it's blipable too.
Only a couple of cars clocked me in dishevelled state in the wood, neither stopped to ask if I was OK.
Just as well, for how would I have explained.....?
The wild garlic and bacon stuffing is combining with roasting chicken and smells divine wafting from the oven as I type this.
And guess what?
The effing sun is shining now!!
