Messy Feet

More messy feet!

Gosh it feels like we've done LOADS today. Breakfast is now an Event with Charley requiring dealing with as well, he had toast with a scraping of jam on it - he dismissed the banana as too much effort! Had to pack Ben's schoolbag (with cars) to go to Little Fishes, which was lovely, Charley was happy to play a bit, Ben actually did a craft again, the cars didn't come out of the bag, Charley fell asleep.

SO we picked up Ben's bike by his request, he wanted to ride his bike some, and headed out in the drizzle while Charley slept to go to the Post Office. We managed to avoid the puddles until we crossed over the railway bridge. Then Ben remembered puddles were good for splashing in. Goodness knows why I didn't put him in wellies... so the bike wheels have been through every puddle possible (save for a couple which I told Ben weren't puddles, they were lakes) and so have his swooshy shoes. Which are now drying out next to the radiator. So are his socks. And jeans.

Lunch was pork pie (and a cream cheese sandwich for Charley) that we bought on the way home (we also saw a digger digging up the road which pleased Ben!). Lots of mess.

We didn't bother putting fresh trousers on Ben, and got the paints out instead! Yesterday's effort turned out pretty brown so I put green on instead of blue today. Turned out much nicer although I must remember to go easy on the red as well...

Charley was grumpy by then so we had some quiet time while he had a big snoozy boob. Once that was finished Charley had a loooong play on his mat (during which time he managed a 180 degree rotation and wee'd on most of his toys! I hope they're washable!!), Ben watched television, and I prepped ladybirds and aquariums for the next craft kit.

Pizzas and cheesy pasta for tea, and I bribed Ben to at least try the garlic bread by promising a wine gum and a packet of pez sweets if he had a mouthful. He's refusing to even try things at the moment so I'm going down the bribery route (which is just basically pudding I suppose) to get him to try a mouthful of something. He liked the garlic bread. But was full up on pasta, which he'd finished! So he got his sweets.

Toenail time for Charley after tea, which he complained about but not a great deal. Just didn't like being mauled! After a traumatic time trying to persuade Ben to get his toenails trimmed by Daddy (and failing) we gave up and put the boys to bed. I love that Ben insists that Steve says "goodnight lovely family" before going back downstairs!

I think I fell asleep again. As usual...
