The Crunch

Day off today so I could get a few jobs done.

Main one was the docs to kick off getting little one assessed, so lucky that our doc is brilliant and great at her job. First bit is done.

Turns out I'm due a few blood tests myself so having those next week. So I'll book another day off work...but one where I can actually do something nice (after the blood draining 0f course)

It was a beautiful if showery evening...Eve and I took a short cut home from Beavers via the park and were both really pleased to see a beautiful rainbow. I took it as a sign. Things are on the up.

Tuesday and scouting for girls went well, walking home and I had to have a talk to the girls about the 'Smyth ear problem' My ears stuck out till I had them stitched back. All the girls have inherited the Smyth ears..so when J complained tonight I had a lot of sympathy but had to explain..that a bit like the UK "we are all in this together" me, L, J and E...we are all suffering from sticky out ear syndrome.

I told them, two options...get them done like me or grow your hair long. no amount of complaining will make them any smaller. Of course like any good mum I did arm them with a whole list of retorts and insults to throw back at the haters.

I was really teased about them when I was a kid and surgery was the best thing I ever did....despite having to be awake while it was done!

The crunch was having them flicked in the school corridor.

THAT'S RIGHT. I'M NOT TOURIST...I KNOW ABOUT THE CRUNCH.

Naboo: You've read all the books, but when it comes to the crunch - where are you?

Saboo: How dare you speak to me of The Crunch! You know nothing of The Crunch. You've never even been to The Crunch.

Naboo: I've been there once.

Saboo: Oh, a little day trip around The Crunch. We can all go as tourists

that you can see it in the slow movement of
the hands of a clock

people so tired
mutilated
either by love or no love.

people just are not good to each other
one on one.

the rich are not good to the rich
the poor are not good to the poor.

we are afraid."
