Winter Solstice

We celebrated winter soltice today, for the first time ever!  During the day we helped plant trees which accidentally fits in.  In the evening Dina and Neil had a gathering at their house.  We drank wassail (which was delicious) and celebrated the Ivy king going in to hiding by making and burning yule logs, pouring cider on the apple trees, shouting, singing and making lots of noise.  It was wonderful and Neil makes a very fetching Ivy king.  We also had dinner, music and lovely conversation.  I can't wait for Summer Solstice now.  Or maybe I just can't wait for Summer...
