Happy Birthday Alexander

Alexander is two today.

He celebrated by watching Cars and The Gruffalo at an early hour and then we took a picnic to the Botanic Gardens. We had a great time looking at the fish, testing the acoustics and hiding in the ferns.

Then we sat on a bench and had a lovely lunch; ran about chasing bubbles and played with his toy car. At this point Alexander contrived to get his foot stuck in the bench, which then fell over and squashed his leg a bit. He did stop shouting after cake was applied, but we thought we should get it looked at....

So we ended up sitting in A&E for a couple of hours, although Alexander slept through the wait so he obviously wasn't that hurt. Then he got his first X-ray, the lucky boy.

Nothing's broken as far as they can see and he's walking about fairly happily (if a bit lopsided), so all in all an eventful birthday. He ate two helpings of dinner and half an Easter egg for his tea so I think he's back on form.
