Happy Anniversary

It is our ......wedding anniversary today and this time last year we spent a long weekend with the family visiting Oakham in Rutland. On the last day B & I visited Barnsdale Gardens, which was originally established by Geoff Hamilton, of Gardeners World fame in the 1980's. It was a delight to visit the many individual gardens within the garden and feel that "we could do that" or "we've got that...whatever its name is". We spent ages there, even wandering round in the drizzle, towards the end!!

We bought loads of plants and this is one of them. These are the first flowers to open on it this year, one this morning and a second this afternoon, almost as if to say "hello, happy anniversary".

We have had a "normal" day, town this morning, garden centre on the way home, time in the garden to do a bit more sorting out and this evening I've got some conference stuff that must be done, deadline looming!!! We will celebrate this weekend when we visit our daughter!!!
