Build it and they will come

Very frustrating morning dodging the heavy rain showers and trying to plant up the pond. Had to tackle the huge clumps of irises that we dumped in the paddling pool when we emptied the old pond. Managed to get some smaller clumps planted in the pond. Found three water lillies too and separated off some bog bean for replanting.

The new plants look good in their new positions and I'm hoping that the pond won't look quite so newly planted for long. As I was putting the plants in place, I noticed this frog happily investigating the new pond. I suspect it is one of the 'refugees' that we removed from the old pond and housed in the paddling pool as a temporary measure. Hope he brings his friends in too.

Moved more soil and stones. Planted some grasses in the bog area and scattered a lot of wild flower seeds in the area adjacent to the pond. Fingers crossed that some of them come up.
