Filament
Another day of rain, this time accompanied by strong wind, so ideally suited for poking about in the house looking for something indoors to blip today. This is the very elaborate filament in a large lightbulb inside what I think is some sort of 'magic lantern' type projector. It has lots of lenses and a concertina-type bellows for moving the front lens back and forth, presumably to alter the size of the projected image. Around the front lens it says 'Newton & Co." and I think it is probably from the 1930's - presumably the bulb is a replacement. I found it in a local antiques/junk shop a few years ago for about £15 and was sufficiently intrigued to buy it. Of course since then it's been well used with the large collection of lantern slides that I don't possess....
