Whaddya want? Blood?!

After months of unsuccessful attempts, I finally gave blood tonight.

As some of you may know, fellow blipper Beewriter if you don't know her, you're missing a treat!has recently joined the blood service as a donor carer.

Soon after starting her new job, she asked for volunteers (well, their veins) to practice on. I did offer, but wasn't able to get to see her.

Fate intervened, as tonight she was working the session. Not only that, she was the one who called my name and took my blood! Poor Bee, no pressure eh?

She was just as I expected (lovely), and to say she's not been in the job very long, she was very professional and it didn't hurt a bit.

I joked I almost didn't recognise her with her clothes on you'll be checking her blips now won't you! and I apologise that I've probably disappointed many blippers who wanted to see her in uniform, but I didn't want to distract her from doing such a marvellous job.

We managed a bit of a natter; hopefully we can meet again properly after my holiday.

She also met Mr A; he claims his after care advice from her was that I have to stroke his hair, massage his feet and make him lots of brews. A likely story!

I've had a few blip meets now, but never one that involved being stuck with sharp, pointy things.

I think I'll stick to the previous blip meet formula of meeting for a pint rather than donating one!
