Welcome Summer

Challenge for the day is 'Welcome Summer'. Not much summer around today, driving back from Nottingham in the pouring rain. I think we had our few days of summer earlier in the week.

I always love it when local fruit comes into season, be that cherries, apples or - at this time of the year in particular - English strawberries. I prefer them straight with noting on them, but for the sake of photography these ones got some cream on them.

No strawberries were harmed in the making of this photo. OK - I admit it, they got eaten afterwards!
