Autumn sunshine

Feeling a bit low with the dreaded cold today but decided that a walk around St John's pond - just at the top of our road- would be a good idea before making the usual supermarket visit.

The light was lovely this afternoon and Autumn seems to have truly arrived.  I've blipped this pond before last year and in January and  this year, but walked round the other side to take this view of an oak sweeping over the water
I have no idea what the box thing is - could be dumped..or some sort of observation thingy maybe?

I'm adding a cute squirrel as an extra - not a brilliant shot but just managed to capture him as he sped towards me, instead of running away!
