...In the way that lunch was not.

Laura and I went to the Ivy Brasserie in Kensington (accompanied by the Ladies of Golders Green and Piers Morgan).

I had an unctuous shepherd's pie topped with mashed potato crusted with Keen's cheddar, Laura had fish cakes with spinach and hollandaise. We shared mange tout and pea shoots that have made Stuart flip with joy.

Pudding was creme brûlée for me and lemon meringue pie for Laura.

As with the Covent Garden original all traditional British dishes done very well (and at a reasonable price). Also like the original, photography not allowed sadly.
