T in the G
Sunday June 15th.
In the summer - and this was the sixth - we have a party in our garden for all our musician friends. It's like T in the Park, but the PA has fewer watts - T in the G. About forty people came, with a general presumption that guests play a few pieces on the "stage".
We use it as an excuse to tidy up the garden, and madame prepares wonderful food, supplemented by guests' delicious contributions.
Despite weeks of grim wet weather, Peebles enjoyed a day of blue skies and sunshine, so we were out in the garden after all.
Minchmoor (of which I'm a third) played a couple of sets and others did their bit too. The music was mainly acoustic but there was also a bit of jamming in a bluesy, electric sort of mode which was fun, having dusted off my electric guitar which had not seen any action since last year's T in the G. The revelation of the day was my brother's first ever public performance of a couple of songs by Steve Earle (dedicated to our Mum) and Lucinda Williams, and it was a pleasure to accompany him. Well done, 'lil bro'!
