Fluffy
We met Shandonner and bignonioides off the no 35 bus and took a club car over the water to Anstruther, where we met up with Liz along with lapsed blippers Jim and Christine and boarded the May Princess for DaveH's birthday trip to the island. The weather forecast had been poor, but although it was overcast for some of the time we had quite a bit of sun, enough to give most of us a touch of sunburn! I didn't get any decent photos, but quite liked this lesser black-backed gull guarding its very fluffy little chick (there was a second one out of sight behind a tussock). Amazing to think what ugly teenagers they turn into.
When we got back to the harbour, T treated us to a late lunch/early supper at the Wee Chippie, as recommended by Lali. It's a long time since I had fish as good as that.
What a grand day out it was. Shame I had to switch on the computer when we got in, to discover that an old musical acquaintance had died earlier today, and that a former OU colleague had died yesterday.
