First blip: a work photo

Spent the morning wandering around Glasgow's east end, looking at sites we are hoping to enhance as part of the Commonwealth Games 'greener legacy'.

This site is in Camlachie and will be slap bang in the middle of things come 2014.

The building on the left is Parkhead (Celtic FC's ground) and the building just visible on the right poking out behind the housing is the new Commonwealth Sports Arena which adjoins the Sir Chris Hoy velodrome.

The site used to be a bus park for travelling football fans. It's now lying empty though some exciting plans are in the pipe line. Back to the funding bids...
