Golden Day
Days don't come any better than this - Leering at Bolt's glutes!
Exhausted, after a 5 am start, but still far too excited to go to bed at 1 am.
Where to begin?
I had a ticket for the Olympic Stadium to watch the athletics morning session, right near the 100 m start.
Highlights? There were far too many to mention them all and far too many shots I would have been happy to post but this had to be my blip.
Here are a few:
Oscar Pistorius, also known as the blade runner, or the fastest man on no legs, running into the history books. This was the first time, Pistorius, a double amputee has be allowed to compete on level terms with able bodied athletes, rather than in the Paralympics.
Seeing Jessica Ennis in the long jump and javelin and being there to cheer her on to Gold in the evening, watching on the big screen in the park.
Celebrating the other two gold medal moments of Greg Rutherford in the long jump and the outstanding Mo Farrar in the 10,000 metres.
Being so close to all the 100 m men - oooh
The experience of the whole day was superb, all the volunteers and paid staff are friendly and helpful. The stadium is fantastic, and the whole park is vibrant and fun and the standard of cleanliness throughout was excellent.
I have very little voice left, my head and feet are aching, but without doubt this was the best £65 I have ever spent.
Post script: Here is a link to one of many of the Gamemakers - volunteers who are all out to make the Olympic experience more enjoyable !!! This has gone viral on You tube this week, she's brilliant.
