Headhunters!!!!!

Slept pretty well, again!

We have been looking forward to today for a little while, a trip into Manchester to hail our Olympians :-)

We took the bus into Wigan, then the train from Wigan into Manchester........walked most of the route to decide on a good spot for later.

Then off to Spinningfields for a spot of lunch in Carluccios, which was rather nice, with a glass of red, a glass of water and a cappuccino to finish off.

We walked back to our preferred spot and guess who we spotted.....only Beewriter herself, we crossed over and snook up on her ;-) she had picked a good spot that would enable a quick dash into Albert Square for the reception/concert after the parade had passed by :-)

There was a great atmosphere, the day had been right and mainly dry......took loads of shots of our athletes, they all seemed to be having a great time, as were the crowds!!

I settled on this shot of our Taekwondo girls, gold medalist Jade Jones, known as " the headhunter" hence the title, here with her pal, training buddy, housemate and bronze medalist Bianca Walkden :-)

So glad we went, all the athletes came on stage, some were interviewed, we were treated to performances from the Kaiser Chiefs and Rebecca Ferguson.....both great!

We stopped for a coffee to warm us up after it was all over. Sadly, the heavens opened just as the Kaiser Chiefs came on stage and we went live on the BBC, but it didn't dampen anyone's spirits, well done Manchester :-)
