View from My Window
Back blip!
Yesterday afternoon I arrived at Stanton to be greeted by people that I have met before which was lovely :)
My room was really beautiful, apparently newly decorated as well. Looking out of the window and seeing the sheep in the field (you can just see the fence in this image) I was reminded of a passage from the Bible~Psalm 23, The Lord is my Shepherd. Also thinking of the the pastoral symphony, which somehow came into my thoughts!
After a lovely lunch and a short wander around, I ended up back in my room intending to read, but soon fell asleep! I woke up just in time for some afternoon tea.
After a nice cuppa and a home made muffin (we had them every afternoon!) I spent a little time reading the beginning of John Ortberg's book 'If you want to walk on water, you've got to get Out of the Boat'
Before dinner I chatted with one of the volunteers at Stanton about crafts and drawing, she is very talented and has apparently been asked by one of her friends to do some drawings for a book she is writing!
Today I ate my breakfast looking out of the window at a beautiful view, with the sun just peeping through. I walked through the trees to the left of this image to the main road, and down the side road to a little church with a beautiful little churchyard (returned to nature). There I sat on a little bench just outside the door of the church.
Back at the house, it's almost complete silence and I'm sitting reading the Bible and writing my journal in the hall. I am revelling in the silence, and constantly wonder why I can't cope with silence at home?
Later in the afternoon I sat outside on a bench by the house. There were a lot of lovely butterflies fluttering in the warm breeze, and also a tiny green creature on the grass (not a grasshopper, more like a frog but minute!). Later when I sat in the sun of the early evening a bronze-winged creature landed on the table next to me. I've no idea what it was (maybe a dragon fly?) but so beautiful, wings glistening in the sun!
So very much at peace with the world at the moment :)
More tomorrow....
