This is Melrose Abbey founded by Cistercian monks in 1136 at the request of King David I of Scotland. The shot is part of the nave of the abbey which was built in the form of a St. John's Cross.

Alexander II, other Scottish Kings and it is said the embalmed heart of Robert the Bruce all have their final resting place at the abbey. ?

A beautiful and solemn place despite the many tourists that frequents it. ?During my visit, there were at least 30 of us with more than a 3rd armed with cameras! ?It was quite difficult to get a shot of the abbey tourist-less. ?Bloody tourists! ?Lol! ;)
