Spitfire at Compton Verney
Today's blip continues the military aviation theme set by yesterday's memorial at the Harrington WWII US Airbase.
We spent the afternoon at Compton Verney in Warwickshire, the former home of the Verney family which in 2004 was transformed into an art gallery.
There were several things we wanted to see there today. First we viewed the "Image of the King" exhibition which is showing the famous 1635 Van Dyck portrait of Charles I in Three Positions.
We then saw the "Flight and the Artistic Imagination" exhibition followed by a very entertaining Spitfire flypast by the Old Flying Machine Company Supermarine Spitfire.
