The beautifully rugged Oregon coast
The day began with a visit to the bustling Tillamook Cheese (and ice cream) headquarters in Tillamook, OR, about 80 miles west of Portland. From there, we headed over to the coast, stopping at the Cape Meares Lighthouse (built in 1890, but decommissioned in 1960's), then continuing along the Scenic Route south. There were so many "Kodak moments" today that it was difficult to narrow down my choice for a blip! In the end, I felt this rocky bluff best captured the many breathtaking scenes we saw as we headed south to Coos Bay, our pit stop for this leg of the trip.
