Bluebell Wood

After a frustrating day at work, it was good to escape and take a slight detour from my normal route home to check out the bluebell woods at Micheldever.  Normally, you can see the blue of the flowers from the M3, but there has been no sight of them so far, so it was a bit of a long shot.  Fortunately, there were bluebells to be seen, though they probably need a few more days or so to reach their best (and some sun!)

I tried out some ICM shots for Ingeborg's Abstract Challenge, and rather liked the painterly effect of this one.  I also experimented with some  shallow DOF shots with my 50mm f1/8 lens, and found a white bluebell among the blue to focus on ( in extras)
