Plum singing solo
We planted a plum tree in our garden when we moved here six years ago. Since then it has provided an abundance of plums, despite its diminutive stature, which we rarely eat because the wasps get to them before we do.
This year, though, our poor little plum tree succumbed to some nasty bug which has made its leaves shrivel and we had given up hope of fruit. Today however, as I was watering the tomatoes, my eye caught something glinting in the sunlight. YES!! A SINGLE PLUM!!
Anyone following my blips may have detected a pattern in the survival rates of my fruit and veg. Let's just say that if they were children they would have been taken into care a long time ago ( with the exception of my tomatoes who continue to go from strength to strength and have provided a veritable glut of fruit) God bless you, tomatoes.
