Temple of Amenhotep
I went out especially to take this for Everydayness, as we had a small conversation last night, about the Qurna Houses you see in the background here.
Taken from the Temple of Amenhotep (Son of Hapu, the architect of the incredible Amenhotep III Temple) looking towards the now empty, village of Qurna Mereit.
The remains of the once mighty mud brick walls have stood the test of time. Beaten by sand storms, winds and constant sunshine, the fragments of relief covered walls and ceiling blocks are still visible.
It is quite breathtaking to see and to imagine who once walked here, over 4000 years ago.
