Snowdon

I have to say, I wasn't nervous about the Snowdon climb....you could say I was a bit blasé about it before hand.

I can now say, having done it, how bloody proud I am of having done this......it certainly is not a walk in the park, it's bloody tough!!

There were 21 of us all of very different fitness levels but we walked as a team up Snowdon. A couple of the girls really struggled but we egged each other on and with regular pit stops we waited for those who found it a bit tough and finished the climb altogether as a team.

At times the climb required rock climbing skills - no exaggeration - it also required thighs of steel - of which I lack! The views heading up were just breathtaking. We were 1100m up at the top with clouds below us and helicopters flying lower than we were. My photography of landscapes needs improving because I found it so hard to capture the varying degrees if light and dark and different levels of clouds.

The walk down was probably harder than going up - I didn't have a walking stick but one of the guys gave me one which was a god send. One of the girls slipped and fell about 6 feet it was horrific. I was at the bottom and it was like watching a rag doll falling. Thankfully she was ok in the sense of no broken bones but there were tears and there will definitely be bruises. It was scary, poor Helen.

Lots of well deserved wines tonight - and baths all round. We are all very, very proud of what we have achieved - last count we have raised almost £20,000 yay!
