The Hanging Gardens of RiverDon
As the rain let up, I thought I'd go down to the Don Valley and see what the river was doing. The usual suspects were out and about: grey wagtail, mallard, moorhen, feral ducks and a heron - perched precariously atop a steelworks building. The river was pretty high but it looked as though the water hadn't wrought too much damage this time. What struck me was how rank the vegetation was looking. In this shot, you can see the riverside path - part of the 5 Weirs Walk and Transpennine Trail, Norfolk Bridge in the middle of the shot and the Railway Bridge at the top.
