Kinnoull Tower
isn't it sad when your children no longer need you?
NO.
Despite today being the first day of, what they call in this neck of the woods, 'the tattie holidays (referring to potatoes rather than tattiness) neither of my boys required my attention - the youngest off mountain biking, the eldest somewhere in cyberspace - and so I took myself for a walk on kinnoull hill, a lovely area of woodland on the edge of Perth.
This is Kinnoull Tower which was built in the 18th century by the 9th Earl of Kinnoull, and is meant to resemble the castles on the Rhine in Germany. Sadly, despite being a beautiful area, it is also a favourite spot for suicides.
