for a change. I got that out of the way and then I went in search of the title of a tune I play which led me to learn a new tune (new? 1670!) Amarillis.
So there went my day . . . Friday pizza night . . .with a drop (two small glasses) of red for my stomach's sake.
The title of the contradance tune I'd forgotten is The Joys of My Life known in parts of Ireland as Donnybrook Fair according to Sue Songer (isn't that a brilliant name for a musician?). How was I able to track the title down? I know the key (G); that's it's a jig; and the Portland Collection has an excellent index listing tunes by type and key. A doddle really.
