Lickey Woods in the Fog

Today was one of those utterly miserable days when the fog never lifted and the mizzle never stopped.

I strode out to Lickey Woods at lunchtime for what I expected to be a forlorn search for a blip, but my pessimism was misplaced. I had a surprising number of photos to choose from by the time I got back home. I found more interesting fungi to shoot, and took plenty of very colourful shots of autumnal leaves.

The one I have chosen for my blip is not the prettiest option, but I think it has a haunting atmospheric charm and certainly best sums up exactly what sort of day it was.
