Poland bound

Off for a few days Poland, a first time visit. Leaving from Santander airport flying for the first time with Wizzair, a Hungarian low-cost airline.

The flight wasn't due to get in to Warsaw until about 10pm but was delayed so we didn't get to the Hertz car hire office in the terminal until about 11:30pm.  Fortunately the man at the desk held on until we arrived. Thumbs up to Hertz there. He was the first victim of my attempts at saying my first few recently acquired phrases in Polish.

Then we drove straight to the nearby hotel to get some sleep before an early departure and a 3-4 hour drive to the town of Oświęcim (better know by its German name Auschwitz) in the general direction of Krakow. We're booked on a guided visit to the camp.

After that we'll continue on to Krakow where we'll be staying for a couple of nights. Then it will be back to Warsaw for an evening and morning in the capital vefore heading back to the airport and home,. A very short and busy break.

Snow on the ground, sub-zero temperature.
