Water lilies

Saturday
I certainly never imagined I'd be blipping water lilies when we went walking at Rowe Woods this afternoon - I'd have thought it would be too late in the season. It was another grey, cool day and, by now, there are more leaves on the woodland floor than on the trees, so it was quite a pleasant surprise to find this reminder of summer on one of the ponds we passed. I mentioned it was cool - on Thursday we reached a high of about 80F (admittedly well above average), while today we struggled to reach 50F - the vagaries of Ohio weather!
