Is This A Pond?

Hadn't been out all day (raining all day and not feeling too bright) so strolled up the road for an evening paper. In the fresh air felt better so took a turn to the park and squelched across the mud to see if there was any activity where our pond should be.

Delighted to see a good trickle flowing down the ditch dug in January and astonished to find a fair approximation of a pond - surely one benefit from the exceptionally wet summer. Good for the birds but wrong time for the frogs.

Watching the news reports of the effects of Hurricane Sandy - so much damage in such a short time, I feel for those affected.
