Burnt Offering

I have overbought on pumpkins. I make some rather lovely pumpkin and ginger soup but I thought I would branch out a bit. I once made pumpkin pie to an American recipe and it was truly disgusting. I made it again with about half the sugar and it was quite nice....

Anyway, this was a recipe for pumpkin cake in the Asda magazine, no less. It turned out to require about a twelfth of one of the pumpkins, so not so great at using it up. But, I haven't got to grips with my oven yet and it was obviously too hot. I have only cooked cake and scone recipes so far that I know and this had to be covered up with paper to finish cooking.

It's got £2.50 worth of pinenuts in it, so we have to eat it. Tastes ok actually!
