Body Language
We shopped in Newport's street market and a few of its shops today with little Casey patiently waiting on his leash (called a lead here). After that we had a good stroll in the estuary and harbor area, which was at low tide under a beautiful mostly-sunny sky.
As we started back toward the bus stop to head for home, I spotted this strikingly graceful creature stalking bugs on the grass at the top of a sea wall on the harbor. Ceridwen walked toward it as I snapped pictures from a distance. We both expected it to run off as she approached.
This turned out to be the most friendly and affection-hungry cat on the waterfront. Here it is (we don't know the gender or the name) in the middle of my one-on-one interview, when the gorgeous cat told this human admirer that it was time for a pet and a scratch or two.
From fifty feet away it seemed like a very large cat, but that was because of the body length and long fur. The whiskered wonder was quite lean.
This sparkling cat was making full use of a bright and mild day, and the entire scene was done proud when its coat and paws and shining eyes made an entrance.
For another testimony on this furry charmer, Here it is.
