Night Lights

It was a lovely evening spent with SDB and family. She even let me borrow her camera to take this shot (though she set it up, don't even ask me how to do that bit..). We did some apple bobbing (which SDB won, who knew she had such talents? The deft and speed with which she surfaced with that apple was magnificent!) Then we went outside- Carl had some poi lessons and the kids had fun with sparklers (Cleo's first time ever). Then back inside for crumpets and music, drumming, and dancing which started out so well but ended in a complete meltdown from the older child. It was time to go home! Tiredness and the excitement of the day had taken their toll. I made some American style cinnamon rolls (read: extra sugar and extra fat, ooey, gooey sticky goodness). There was something new for everyone I think. There was squabbling and, as SDB poetically put it, sparks flying but all in all I think everyone had fun!
