This may look like an ordinary sign to you, but the advertising signs for the annual village fireworks have caused quite a furore in certain circles.

Our village has an online forum to discuss stuff. One man on there complains about the fireworks every year, picking out different aspects to hate. This year is was the signs, as well as the noise, & location of the display. Frustrated that no one seemed to be doing anything about his complaints this year he started spreading rumours that the event was cancelled! He even went so far as to inform all the local papers that it was off and that the organisers had been fined for illegal use of signs (they haven't)....

Oh dear oh dear, very naughty indeed.

The Firework display is a spectacular and popular village event run by volunteers which raises money for the local schools. This year the theme is "A Golden British Summer" and the bonfire will be lit by Izzy Gower, a Linton Village College Student who was one of the Olympic torch bearers.
