Land of Spike

I've known illustrator Spike Gerrell for erm... 32 years. I commissioned him to illustrate for City Limits when I was a designer. My work space looked very much like his in the day although I had a drawing board rather than a computer. The scan on the screen is of a drawing on a post-it note!

Both of us do more than that now and I popped over to his home to pick up some jars of honey from his bees.

Down at the bottom of his garden in Stroud Green, screened by a bamboo fence are several very active hives. His little boys have been very busy. I managed to take pictures without having to suit up and without getting stung thankfully.
