My Mum

Has got Altzeimers and it has attacked the speech part of her brain so she just cannot remember words and now finds it incredibly difficult  to communicate anything.  

This is particularly cruel as all her life she has been a very articulate, principled and outspoken person.

At the moment she is in a truly horrible place where she is aware of what she is unable to do and is often frustrated to the point that she "just wants to go".

She still has that passion and desire to let us know what she thinks, but we often don't understand what she is trying to say - heartbreaking.
