Mr. Flip & Fluff Quartet
Daughter M enjoys waffles, so that's what we had for brunch this morning, using our waffle baker. A decade ago, when we purchased it, the company's marketing gurus decided to call it "Flip 'n Fluff Waffle Baker," but we've always referred to it simply as "Mr. Flip & Fluff," a more elegant appellation.
We had plenty of choices for filling all those tiny squares:
-- Rodda classic Cornish clotted cream, hand-carried by a friend recently returned from that beautiful area of the UK
-- Delicious homemade red raspberry jam, sent from Minnesota by a friend
-- Unsalted organic butter (not, alas, local)
-- Grade B (dark and full-flavored) maple syrup, bought in bulk at our food co-op
-- Ginger Spread (a jamlike spread, yummy!)
-- Local Guernsey full-fat honey yogurt
-- Local organic full-fat plain yogurt
-- Whatcom County blueberries (frozen by me this summer)
You can see all of those above!
